Packet Analizer ?

Hi I am new to Cacti and am getting on ok with setting up various graphs etc.

However I would like to report on network traffic by protocol eg smtp, httpd, dns etc.

Is this possible ? so far I have not found any plugins or templates to do this.

I second that. My employer is looking for graphing solution , and looks like Cacti fits (not sure yet - just discovered Cacti by Google

), and network traffic split by protocol would by nice-to-have thing..

There aren't any plugins that do this natively, however, if you are looking at getting NETFLOW stats etc, then you could have a look at Scrutinizer. It's free as well.

Also nfsen. We run this alongside Cacti to collect netflow data from our edge and aggregation routers.
