Graph labels are displaced

Post by emil.s »

Hello!

Since some weeks ago, the graph labels (Inbound: Current XXX, Average XXX...) is displaced.

Previously, the Outbond/lower field was in line with the Inbord/higher field, but not anymore.
Look for your self:

Any idea about how to get it back to normal?

Go back to a monospaced font and/or try changing the font size.

The only font I found was this one:
/usr/share/rrdtool/librrd2/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf

Pasted that in Settings > Paths > RRDTool Default Font Path
But it's still the same. Changing the size made no difference.

It's Cacti 0.8.7e running on an Ubuntu 9.04 box.

This is which version of rrdtool?
RRDTool as of 1.3 won't accept file names for fonts anymore. This is a known issue which we are going to tackle hopefully soon

There we found the problem! :)
Ubuntu uses version 1.3.1, so I guess it's not so much to do until a new Cacti release has fixed it?

Anyways, thanks for answer, and for developing this wonderful application!

The bug is fixed in SVN. Tests for windows have not been completed, yet

A temporary work-around if you can live with the default rrd-font (which is mono-spaced and seems to place labels nicely):

Alter function rrdtool_set_font in lib/rrd.php and make it always return an empty string.

Testet om debian/lenny, cacti 0.8.7e + plugin-arch, rrd-tool 1.3.1

No. And it fails on windows (no fc-list). RRDTool now requires font names, not font FILE names. You may enter the font name and accept the verification error, though.
