Boost: /var/lib/mysql/cacti/poller_output_boost.MYI fills up

Post by Deviloper »

Hi, I noticed that my /var/lib/mysql/cacti7/poller_output_boost.MYI' is filling up rapidly. Today I had 174990000 entries in it and it does not alter the rrds hourly like configured. Any idea?

Using latest cati+patch +latest boost.

I don't use MyISAM for this table. I set the max heap table size large enough to carry the entire table, and then use the memory storage engine for this. Otherwise, you get into these problems with a buldging index file.

You can optimize the size of that table by reducing the column with of the output column to 20% more than you need too. However, this means that you DONT/CANT restart MySQL unless you first convert that table back to MyISAM prior to restarts and convert back to memory afterwards. That's a minor annoyance though.
