[Solved] Windows Scheduler starting issue

Post by LukeSharpe »

Problem:
Windows Scheduler will not run the poller.

Observations:
After checking permissions etc the scheduler still does not run. After you reset the password, the first batch will run but the rest fail. Check the Scheduler logs under Advanced -> view log. If you get the following message then the Scheduler owner is not set up to do batch logon:-

Logon failure: The user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again.

Resolution:

* Login as an administrator user
* Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy
* Expand the tree on on the left to show Local Policies -> User Rights Assignment
* Double-click on "Log on as batch job" on the right
* Click the "Add User or Group..." button and add the user

It's taken me all afternoon to find that bugger!
