Hi All,
I've been using Cacti for the last day or so on my Windows 2003 Server, and although there is obviously a large learning curve to get everything you want out of it, I'm am really impressed with the huge amount of congiurability.
I have two question I hope someone can point me in the right direction about:
(1) I'm using the Micorosft CPU Usage SNMP OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.1.5.1.5.1.48 to monitor my Servers CPU. This is working very well, but I'm wanting to decrease the polling interval to 1 minute averages or less to get a more accurate measure of my Servers CPU usage. I'm actually also wanting to do this with a few other counters such as network traffic and http requests. Could anyone point me in the right direction here for obtaining a totally configurable polling interval for Windows platforms?
(2) I'm using the Microsoft Disk Usage SNMP OID's from .1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.1.1.1.5.2.67.58 to .1.3.6.1.4.1.9600.1.1.1.1.5.2.69.58 to monitor the amount of free space on the different partitions on my Servers hard drives. Again, this is working without a hitch, my problem is that I want to show the percentage used, not percentage free as these OID's do. Is there any other OID's which show the percentage of used HDD space as oppossed to free HDD space, or is there even a way of inversing the OID's I'm using? I'd also like to have the vertical scaled locked at a full 100% instead of being relative to what's being graphed. Is this possible?
(3) This is touching on the first question again. Everything I plan to monitor has different polling needs. For instance, I'd only want to poll HDD usage every 15 minutes or so to preserve resources as a HDD's usage genrally doesn't change that much in that timeframe. Whereas a Network interface or CPU utilization will fluxuate a good deal in that time. Is there anyway under Windows to have multiple polling periods? I searched and found one for *nix, but nothing for Windows so far.
To date I've been using GetIf 2.3.1 and SNMP Informant to track down most of the OID's I'm looking for. However, this is proving fairly time consuming. The SNMP walk function in GetIf is really good, and gets a huge amount of data from the private MIB. Has anyone got a more user friendly way of browsing the MIB's for useful OID's rather than searching each OID one ata time?
My stats to date if anyone is interested:

Hi,
I've posted a patch which allows CACTI to have multiple polling interval :

Not tested on Windows....
Thanks for your link.
