Anyone help me with rrdtool tune?

Post by dpjoff »

:o How/What is the sentax for updating the "step = 600" in the rrd files to be "step = 60"? I don't want to lose my data by changing the data source and having to create a new rrd file. (if thats what will happen) is there a way for me to just tune it? :-?

Code: Select all

[root@hs01ut13 rra]# rrdtool info hs01cx63_full_99.rrd
filename = "hs01cx63_full_99.rrd"
rrd_version = "0001"
step = 300
last_update = 1077832649

It seems you can't do that. Rrdtool tune can change only heartbeat, min and max values, DS type and name. You can try however to do rrdtool dump to XML file, change step (if possible) and perform rrdtool restore.
