Holes in graph

Post by gpeterer »

Hello
I’m running Cacti 0.8.7b on a Unix OS.
On all the Graphs of some Servers we have holes, the server is the whole time available and it also requests to SNMP at this time. The only thing I could fined out is, that the Status of those Servers which have those holes is Down.
All other Server and Object are working fine and are configured the same.
Dose anybody has a explanation for that?

Regards
Peter

Bad windows snmp agent implementation... try increasing the snmp timeout for that device by 1000 or 2000ms.

You mean bad SNMP implementation on Windows witch I can’t take any action about it.
Or is it a bad configuration of de SNMP agent from my side?

Also check to ensure that the poller actually completes polling within 300s - check for sth like this line in your cacti.log

:07/28/2009 11:04:59 AM - POLLER: Poller[0] Maximum runtime of 298 seconds exceeded. Exiting.

The SNMP agent on windows is quite slow; as I've been told. So in general, increasing the SNMP timeout should do, as BSOD2600 advised. He's by far the more accomplished to that platform
