Hi all!
I have been using cacti for some monthes, and i did not be really interested (because of ignorance) in using any plugin.
Now, i want to give them a try: I have a devian lenny installation and i installed cacti from the repos..... How do i start to use the plugins? I have been checking the wiki, and it says that i have to place the plugins in a folder called plugins, but i have none in my installation......
Is there any how to more precise? Do i have to do anythibng else appart from installing the cacti version located in the official repos?
I am a bit lost in this....
How to use plugins

You need to install the Plugin Architecture, which is not part of the standard Cacti package.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Ok, thanks for the tip!!
Here are my questons:
1) On the readme, it says i should apply this patchs just on a fresh cacti install.... my cacti system has been working for a month already... i wouldnt want to start over...... is it o critical to do it on a just fresh setup?
2) The Cacti version i am using is: 0.8.7b , i know it is not the latest, but it is the one in debian repos.... the patch is for 0.8.7e ... are there so many changes between these two versions? I think id rather stay wth the version i am currently using, where can i find the appropiate pach for this version?
Thanks

It just means without any other patches applied. Back up your cacti directory and database first though, of course... just in case.Xi0N wrote:Ok, thanks for the tip!!

As far as I know only the latest version is ever supported. You might be lucky and find the right patches for 'b' on this forum. You *do* need the right patches for your version of Cacti.2) The Cacti version i am using is: 0.8.7b , i know it is not the latest, but it is the one in debian repos.... the patch is for 0.8.7e ... are there so many changes between these two versions? You can find the old "unsupported" patch for 0.8.7b here
