Disk Space templates only displaying 2 months worth of data

Post by cyr0n_k0r »

I seem to have set something somewhere but I don't know where. It seems all of my "disk space" and "network" graphs are only displaying the past 2 months worth of data even though they have been monitored for the past 7 months.

My CPU graphs are displaying correctly with data going all the way back to december and january, but all my network and disk space graphs are only going back to the beginning of april.

What information can I provide to let you troubleshoot the reason this is happening?

Screenshots, graph debug text and "rrdtool fetch <rrd file> AVERAGE" to verify you really do have data going back that far.

Opps, forgot fetch defaults to only a day of data. Use rrdtool dump instead and manually look through the xml file to verify the data is/isn't there.

Also a rrdtool info would be handy.

Did you resize the rrd files lately?

I believe I resized them back when I set them all up back in December of 2008, but I haven't edited anything like that since back then.

Because the rrdtool database sizing is one of the most complicated things, IMO. Please read the rrdtool manual regarding steps, rows, and timespans. Then do the calculations with the rrd file(s) you're having issues with.
