No Graphs!! Plenty of rdds, but no graphs

Post by parkprimus »

I have searched all day and can not find any help online. I have found that folks that have problems displaying graphs, have not rdds. I have rrds just not a single graph, just the little default gif instead.

Any Help or comment will be appreciated.
Thanks

What happens, when selecting any of those broken images? Which version of cacti and rrdtool are used?

When I select a graphic is goes into the daily, weekly, monthly... images. More of the same though. I can zoom in but naturally there is nothing there.

I quit

Post by parkprimus »

I guess since I am getting little assistance from the developers, I am going to give it up. I have spent too much time on something that does not deliver. Audios

Were there any errors posted in your apache log files? Are you using SELinux? What are the permissions on the RRD files? ( for example /usr/local/apache2/htdocs/dcfnetdev/cacti/rra/3/71.rrd )

No errors in the apache log file; Selinux is disabled; I mad the permisions on the rdds 777 to see if that was the problem, and they belong to the catiuser.catiuser owner and group. This is why it is so hard for me to figure out because there are not errors in any logs that I can see. I do have another virtual server running on apache and it can deliver png files with no problem. If it were and AddType problem I would see it in the apache logs. Still stumped!?!

Logging in as "cactiuser" and running

Code: Select all

/bin/rrdtool graph /tmp/cacti.png --imgformat=PNG --start=1242681463 --end=1242767863 --title="localhost - Logged in Users" --rigid --base=1000 --height=120 --width=500 --alt-autoscale-max --lower-limit=0 COMMENT:"From 2009-05-18 17\:17\:43 To 2009-05-19 17\:17\:43\c" COMMENT:" \n" --vertical-label="users" --slope-mode --font TITLE:12: --font AXIS:8: --font LEGEND:10: --font UNIT:8: DEF:a="/usr/local/apache2/htdocs/dcfnetdev/cacti/rra/3/72.rrd":users:AVERAGE AREA:a#4668E4FF:"Users" GPRINT:a:LAST:"Current\:%8.0lf" GPRINT:a:AVERAGE:"Average\:%8.0lf" GPRINT:a:MAX:"Maximum\:%8.0lf\n"
gives a nice image? Or errors?

In this case, your rrdtool is broken.

Thanks for you help! I have graphs

Post by parkprimus »

I had rrdtool version 1.3.2 and when I ran the command above it through an error segmentation fault. I did not however see any error from cacti. It would have been a lot easier to trouble shoot if I did. I upgraded rrdtool to version 1.3.8, changed the cacti path and magic, I have graphs. Thanks for all the help.
