SNMP Interface - Problem with Description added to Interface

Post by sigtrap »

OS: RHEL 5
Cacti-0.8.7d

I originally created a SNMP interface for a cisco router, at the time, there were no descriptions on the interfaces. This caused cacti to store the title in graph_templates_graph as |host_description| - Traffic - |query_ifName|.

Today, I added a description to all of the interfaces and I've verified SNMP is pulling the data, but the graph_templates_graph table isn't updating to include the |query_ifAlias|. Also, there is no place under the graph management to edit or change this.

My questions...
1. Does cacti have a way to update this natively?
2. If this doesn't exist, can this become a feature enhancement?

You can do so manually or use a cli script. First, make cacti reindex that data query for that host to catch the new description. Then, "reapply suggested names" will update graphs
