I am graphing interfaces with the bits/sec template. I have noticed the traffic that is reported does not match the show interface command input/output in bits per second.
I can manually pull the octets per second and convert to the correct bandwidth reported by the show interface command.
((octets per second)/polling interval) * 8 = bandwidth in bits per second
I have tried manipulating the CDEFs with mixed results.
I am not sure where the breakdown is in Cacti. I have never noticed before, so I am not sure if this is an issue with the version I am running or not.
I have downloaded the newest version of EZCacti and installed as a VM on a Windows XP desktop. This is used for testing at the moment.
Anyone have any ideas? Any help is appreciated.
Differece in Show interface and what is reported on Cacti

When comparing traffic data of the device to Cacti, please make sure to take snapshots at quite exactly the same time as cacti does. Keep counter wraps in mind and subtract counters of different timestamps to get the correct amount of octets transferred. Then, apply bytes to bits and "per second" math.
