The same problem

Post by sparedes »

Hi, I have exactly the same problem with Cacti. I haven`t done any change or update. My version is 0.8.7b.
Why does this happen?
I also receive many alarm mails that indicate some hosts are DOWN. But when I do PING and SNMP tests, I confirm that the host is UP.
According to Cacti the hosts stay DOWN for 15 minutes in all of the cases.
Thanks

Cacti's standard "re-animation" cycle is 15 minutes.
So the question remains: why do dropouts occur? One of the possible root causes is a second cron running the poller. Another one is a timeout problem for the "downed host detection". Please see 2nd link of my sig for more help
