Problems with cactid 0.8.5

Post by conred »

Hi,
I have compiled without problems cactid 0.8.5 in my mandrake 9.1 but when i tried to run it I received this output:

-sh-2.05b$ ./cactid
cactid version 0.8.5 starting.
Using cactid config file [cactid.conf].
Connecting to MySQL database 'cacti' on 'localhost'...
*** Unrecongized directive: defaultport=161 in /etc/snmp/snmp.local.conf

Pls, I need help because my cmd.php take more than 4 min to pool all objects.

Thanks in advance.

This I "solved" by removing snmp.conf* from /etc/snmp and putting the settings in my home dir. Tried to figure out what causes it to read those files but didn't succeed. :)

Many thanks, Jeppe.

It's wonderful.

I also ran across this error, and the workaround suggested works. What exactly is causing this?

I still don't known why but read_config() gets called by init_snmp("cactid").

I have the same problem.
cactid 0.8.5
netsnmp 5.0.8

 oups, lib netsnmp also has read_config()

change read_config to cacti_read_config in util.c, util.h and cactid.c

or... compile your libnetsnmp in a proper way.

Thanks for pointing this out! I renamed this function to "read_cactid_config" as not to collide with net-snmp.
