Hello Board,
I'm trying to get some usefull information out of some HP Procurve Switches but I'm not able to use the MIBs provided on the HP TopTools CD.
After copying the v2 MIB's to the cacti host and setting the enviroment variable MIBS="ALL" I get following error message:
Bad SIZE syntax (DisplayString): At line 153 in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/hpbasic.mib
Bad parse of OBJECT-TYPE: At line 153 in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/hpbasic.mib
Did not find 'zeroDotZero' in module SNMPv2-SMI (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/DISMAN-SCHEDULE-MIB.txt)
NET-SNMP version 5.0.9
Does anyone have a solution to integrate HP Procurve Switches?
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards
Christian

Which Procurve switches are you using?
I have had pretty good luck getting the black boxes (Foundry) to work with Cacti.
Jeru,
I am not an SNMP expert, but Ill take a long shot.
It looks like the first two errors are syntax errors in the MIB file hpbasic.mib. Open hpbasic.mib and have a look at line 153 and see if anything obvious jumps out. Some parsers are less intelligent and more prone to syntax problems.
The third error looks like a dependancy issue? That MIB is relying on data from SNMPv2-SMI which is missing. Make sure SNMPv2-SMI is in the same folder as your other MIBS.

Altough I can get value via snmpwalk, I cannot draw memory graph by using cacti.Pumpi wrote:Hi Jeru,
I' have only a ProCurve Switch 5308XL and getting interface statistics with the default Cisco template works for me.
You can get for example the CPU utilisation with standard MIB:
OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.9.6.1.0
Used memory:
OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.14.11.5.1.1.2.1.1.1.7.1
Pumpi
My graph shows only "nan"
Do you know why?
I have to ask that: memory value must be gauge?
