Newbie question about graphs and Alias (int descr)

Post by maltuna »

Totally new to cacti, and have no idea what I'm doing at this point, but I'm wondering...

When I add a device (say, a cisco router), and I go to create graphs, I get this very wonderful list of all the interfaces it finds from an snmp walk, with columns that include wonderful bits of info such as ip address, alias (the int description), etc.

However, when I actually look at the graphs once I tell it to create them, it doesn't have any of that extra info.

If I look at the template that I chose for the graph, I see:

|host_description| - Traffic

in the field for Title (--title)

Now then, I can of course change this, but the question is, can I change it to get what I want? Is there some variable like |int_alias| or something? Is there any kind of list of variables that are "there" ? Or is this something that would require crazy customization, or some plugin/template/script that someone else wrote?

Just looking for some pointing in the right direction :)

Thanks !!
