SQL monitoring

Post by mcolas »

Hello,

I setup a monitoring server with nagios 3.0.6 and cacti 0.8.7b but I would like to monitor a sql server. I found on this forum how to monitor the sql connection by a script but that's all.
Is it possible to check enough statement of a SQL server like buffer hit ratio or anything else that is important for this type of server.

Thank you to help me :)

Take a look at SNMP Informant - it's an extension agent for the Windows SNMP agent that includes exposing a lot of SQL Server counters to SNMP.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
