Cacti graph not matching interface stats....HELP!!!

Post by dlennon »

I have been using cacti for years mostly without major issues I could not resolve. I have run across something now that i need some help resolving.

I have several interfaces now peaking above 110Mbps, that it looks as if the graph is wrapping once the throughput reaches 110 and the excess starts again from the bottom. So the graph shows 5Mbps instead of 115Mbps for that direction only. The oppisite direction although substantially lower, does not seem to be affected. I have logged into the device(s) during the time the anomilly occurs and verified the interface is indeed runing at some number above 110Mbps. I am running cacti on centos and cacti ver .0.8.7d Any assistance is apreciated.

I don't think so...
even with 32-bit counters you should see the upper side of the graph steady to the max value (114mbit/s), no wrap at all...

you need to use 64bit counters. read [INFO] My traffic graphs won't exceed 114 mbit/s
