PHP error

Post by zauron »

Hi there,

I've installed everything (I think) correctly but when I try to go to localhost/cacti I get a dialogue box asking me if I want to Open or Save the phtml file.

I know this is because of some problem between php and apache but I've tried googling all sorts, reinstalling everything etc etc and got nowhere.

If anyone can suggest anything to help I would be very grateful!

Thanks,

Michael

Check that you have the AddType and AddHandler commands in your Apache config for .php files (it's in the PHP manual). Those are what tell Apache to handle .php specially.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I'm assuming you mean httpd.conf? This file is empty. I had a feeling this may not be entirely correct. What should it contain?

I am using Ubuntu Intrepid btw.

Thanks

It should contain an Apache config! Time for you to read the Ubuntu manual I guess, to see what they have done with it...
