exporting graphs not working as expected

perhaps some can shed some light here. What I'm trying to accomplish is having all the graphs be created and saved locally (or ftp) every 5 minutes for use within our customer interface.

I set the export method to be Classic and set a path. All appears well when the next cycle takes place, but the resultant HTML files have no graphs in them and the graphs/ sub-folder of my export directory has no graphs in it.

I don't really need the HTML files, just the rendered images with some logical filename.

has anyone had success with this export feature?

i just checked all the graph templates and they all have "Allow Graph Export" box checked.
