Cisco BGP Peer Accepted Prefixes count SNMP query

Post by yuval_ba »

Hi,

Here is an SNMP query that will allow to graph Cisco per BGP peer accepted prefixes count.

Few key points:
  1. this is a quick and not perfect query, the only input field is the peer IP, and it will only work well for ipv4 af, other af will show the OID suffix, this is due to the way this MIB is built.
  2. your Cisco router must support the feature: "BGP MIB Support Enhancements", you can test by walking this OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.187.1.2.4.1.1
  3. created on 0.8.7b
  4. place the XML file on <cacti_dir>/resource/snmp_queries/

I know this was an old thread however I have made some corrections in the above xml as well as a graph template to suit. It is kinda hacky, but it works :P

Just an update the OID for Denied Prefixes (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.187.1.2.4.1.2) is a counter and only resets when a hard reset occurs on the peer :(

I will be modifying mine to not show denied.

Your Cacti version is older than the one that exported the template.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.

Just add query in "Data Queries" with the link to cisco_cbgp_760.xml and connect graph template to it.

Hi,
Sorry, for some reason I was not notified about the posts to this thread :(
Anyway, I posted it long time ago and I don't have access to that Cacti anymore. I also see that I only posted the SNMP XML and not the data query or graph template...

I will try to re-install it and re-export, but I can't promise how soon....
