problem with accessing host
I have installed Cacti version 0.8.7b on my XP host machine . The problem is that when i add a host i.e. my router whose ip address is 192.168.1.25 it says can not connect to host ( from the web page ) while i can ping my router from my XP machine from command prompt . I am configuring only ping from cacti . Then after it I added my local machine to cacti but again it said cannot connect to host . Is there any known problem in this version in this thing .
Do you know your router supports SNMP?

Well yes SNMP is enabled in my router but I have tried accessing router with SNMP and Ping to ( once with only PING - icmp ) but in the ICMP process it also gives the same error that cannot connect to host while I am able to ping my router from my same machine ( cmd ) where cacti is installed . Secondly I tried adding my local PC i.e. the pc on which cacti is installed , again it gives the same error that can not locate host .

Switch the device detection to SNMP.
Any firewalls blocking the snmp / icmp traffic?
Any errors while setting up / installing cacti?
Did you follow my installation guide?

Can you tell me where your installation guide is located . I have installed cacti using an .exe file i got from internet " cacti-0.8.7b.1.8.exe " . One more thing is that I posted one more problem on the forum which was of graph not connectivity, I see an X sign on the graph but not the graph , does it require any applet . but you have locked that topic and written that " Stop cross-posting."
It's linked in my signature, the sticky in this forum, the documentation site, etc.communication.boy wrote:Can you tell me where your installation guide is located . I have installed cacti using an .exe file i got from internet " cacti-0.8.7b.1.8.exe " .
Right, likely it's related to the issues you're having in this thread. Go to Graph Mangement. Click on a graph. In the top right corner, enable Graph Debugging. Does rrdtool report an error?communication.boy wrote:One more thing is that I posted one more problem on the forum which was of graph not connectivity, I see an X sign on the graph but not the graph , does it require any applet . but you have locked that topic and written that " Stop cross-posting."
