Unable to monitor Windows 2008 server

Post by Shivaraj05 »

I successfully added windows 2003 servers for monitoring a few days back. But now i am not able to add windows 2008 servers. Its showing "SNMP error"

I have SNMP services running in the server .Agent,Trap, security tabs of SNMP service are provided with Community string and IP of cacti server.

Is there any specific requirement for monitoring windows 2008 server?

Please help me out.

Perhaps a firewall issue? This is clearly an SNMP setup problem on windows. Therefor moving to Windows Forum

1) run snmpwalk locally against the windows server, does it return data?
2) run snmpwalk from the Fedora box against the sever, does it return data?
3) make sure there are rules in firewalls to allow SNMP traffic.
