Install Nagios/Centreon/Cacti

Post by flipmode »

Hi everyone,

I installed Nagios and Centreon on my Linux server (Fedora). Nagios allows me to monitor my network and trace information. Centreon is the graphical interface that allows me to use the information handled by Nagios and Nagios easier to administer.

Everything is fine but I would like to install Cacti because for the presentation of graphs, it is better than other software. However, I read on the Internet that using Nagios/Centreon and Cacti make statements doubles server configuration and double checks ...

I would like to avoid having two poller which are doing the same thing (Nagios and Cacti will seek the same things). How can we remove the double check by not turning the poll Cacti?

I saw that there were several ways to add Cacti and Nagios/Centreon:

- By using the NPC Plugin (Nagios Plugins for Cacti), which allows to interface directly results in Nagios Cacti. http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?p=63359 # 63,359

- By linking Nagios and Cacti to automatically add a link to Cacti from the Web interface Nagios

What is the best solution?

Thanks for your help
