Graphs NAN

Post by j0hnd03 »

Hi,

I installed Cacti on 3 different ways:

- Via Yum
- Via Source
- Via svn

None of the mentioned ways helped. My problem is that my graphs stay empty, and returns Nan. This happens on both the localhost and any other host I try to add.

I get only these errors in my cacti.log:

-ERROR: Problems parsing Multi SNMP OID! (oid: )
-WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: ...
-WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: U
-WARNING: Poller Output Table not Empty. Issues Found: 1, Data Sources: users(DS[53])

Will appreciate the help.[/img]

Likely permissions what happens when you run the poller as root? Do you receive "Ok's"? Also, currently RRDtool 1.3 is not supported.

Why is your poller interval set to 10 seconds and cron interval set to 60 seconds? Do you know what you are doing? If not, please set cron interval to 5 minutes and poller interval to 5 minutes.

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I have changed my poller settings like you suggested. Reason why I set it like it was, is because I was trying to see every +-5 seconds of the graph. I have set it like you suggested for now, just for the sake of getting the graphs to work. So far, still Nan.

Hi,

I noticed that some of the errors are gone now. My graphs still say Nan and I still get this one error:

WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: ..

When you figure this out, you will have earned you "Cacti" badge. Learning is an iterative process.

...... i think the reason why the witness has responded like he has is that, there are numerous posts on the forum about NaN's and he would just be continually repeating himself. If you do a search on the forums, there should be something in there that can help you out :)

First thing I normally do is check the forums before I post anything. Obviously the forums didn't help. I am really not impressed with cacti's support.

look at gandalfs second link in his sig, there he has a section on how to debug NaN's in your cacti graphs...

Check out the realtime plug-in when you get your cacti working. It is awesome and supports this functionality.
