Syslog plugin and MySQL

Post by smlick »

When I click on the syslog TAB i get this error message:
FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'.

I use Cacti 0.8.7b an PA 2.1 with thold, monitor, tools, update and other plugin with no problem.
As usual I added the monitor string into global.php I added to the Cacti database the syslog.sql table and I check the syslog view and config into user management.

Any idea?

Regards
Alessio

Ok!!!
I solve the problem.
I have to create a new db out of cacti db (example syslog) and not to create the new table inside the cacti db.

I fixed it by Correcting config.php file inside syslog folder.
There was wrong database name and password replace it matching file in include/config.php
