What version if IOS is on your 6500? For mine I needed to add new device types so that the newer IOS versions were properly detected as a Cisco device.

You have to redefine the device template, entering the string

c6sup2_rp-PSV-M

to make you device recognizable.

Go to:
-Device Tracking Management -> Device Types;

-find the "Catalyst 6000 Router SupII" template;

-Duplicate it;

-Edit the "System Description Match" string and paste the "c6sup2_rp-PSV-M" string (and remove the "--dup--" string added by the template duplicate);

- Remember to re-enable the poller process

Hope it hels!

Vins beat me to it. :) He has it right. Follow his instructions and it should start working for you.
