[SOLVED] [BUG]Spine Poller File Path [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND]

Post by lipos »

Just installed Cacti cacti-0.8.7b and cacti-spine-0.8.7a.tar.gz on my RH5.2.
Cacti is wortking fine and spine compiled without any problems.
I store the second one in /etc/spine
After running /etc/spine/bin/spine I get:

Code: Select all

SPINE: Using spine config file [/etc/spine.conf]
SPINE: Version 0.8.7b starting
SPINE: Time: 0.1017 s, Threads: 1, Hosts: 2

It seems to be fine, but the problem is that cacti shows me [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND] in the patha tab after I put /etc/spine/bin/spine or /etc/spine/spine.

What could be wrong and how can I debug it?

Well,

Code: Select all

updatedb
locate spine
Then include that path. Keep in mind it's a file path and not a directory.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?

Nope...
No success.
Then include that path. Keep in mind it's a file path and not a directory.

I used all possible configurations and I updated the configuration RRDTool so I know the defference between directory and file it self.

Just one question:

The path should point to the spine file generated after compiling it?

I just solved my cron problem and I will focuse on this one.
Any suggestions would be really helpful.

What kind of spine version was tested with cacti 0.8.7b??
I will try to downgrade it just in case...

One more thing ..I get this message in my tech supp:

Code: Select all

ERROR: Installed RRDTool version does not match configured version.
Please visit the Configuration Settings and select the correct RRDTool Utility Version.
I'm using 1.3 and I guess that's the problem. My cacti version doesn’t list it yet. Do you think that might be a problem??
Other that this spine problem everything seems to be working fine.

One more thing..
I downloaded cacti-spine-0.8.7a.tar.gz but my spine shows me

Code: Select all

SPINE: Using spine config file [spine.conf]
SPINE: Version 0.8.7b starting
SPINE: Time: 0.1329 s, Threads: 1, Hosts: 2
Mistake or there's something to it?

OK.
Problem seems to solved.
Cacti stills shows the [ERROR: FILE NOT FOUND] message, but the spine is working so that's somekind of PHP bug or something.

Any bugzilla around? :)

Cheers!
