Bulk graph creation

Post by niobe »

I've modified the host template for 150 devices, and added a new graph template. Now I want to create that graph for each device.

Is there a quick way to do it, without having to do each one manually?
Is there also a way to reapply a host template to multiple devices?

The first question is to take your information and put it in CSV format and then write a quick script that reads the information and uses the two scripts:

add_device.php
add_graph.php

Then, if you modify a Host Template and add additional Graph Templates or Data Queries to it, I have recently written a script called "host_template_update.php" I think anyway. It's currently in the branch/0.8.7/cli folder and will be released with 0.8.7c.

adding multiple devices

Post by gunza »

Hello!

I just wonder if there is a way to add multiple devices of the same type (by the same host template) instead of adding it one by one.

Thank you

This is currently not supported. You are thinking of sth like a "--file=<csv delimited file>" option? Why are you asking for this? Are you suffering from performance problems?

The super add plugin can add you host and graph fast although it doesn't support selecting host by host template. It's essentially web UI for theWitness' cli tool. However, it's not as powerful as the cli tool since it doesn't deal with data query type of graph.
