[solved] First cacti install problems

Post by chase »

Operating System: Windows server 2003
Webserver: IIS6
Cacti: 0.8.7b
Spine: none
MySQL: 5.0.51a
PHP: 5.2.6
RRDTool (Cygwin or Win32 version): 1.2.15 win32
Net-SNMP: 5.2.2

Okay, first I just want to say that this my first experience with servers but I am slowly figuring things out so just please bare with me and I will try my best here.

I have followed your guide as close as possible and I am now having a few problems.

My graphs come out to be red X's. I looked at the technical supposr section under system utilities in cacti and i see this error: ERROR: Installed RRDTool version does not match configured version.
Please visit the Configuration Settings and select the correct RRDTool Utility Version.

Also when i try to debug a graph the RRDTool gives no output. I have granted NTFS permissions on all the files you requested in your guide. I have been stumped on this for a few days now and I can't seem to find the problem.

Thank you in advance.

Have you done this yet?

Typically a sign you have not granted the correct NTFS permissions to cmd.exe and/or rrdtool.exe.

Also I suggest you upgrade rrdtool to 1.2.26 or better from http://www.gknw.net/mirror/rrdtool/

Yes i have selected the proper version of the rrdtool tool in the cacti settings and it still gives me that error.

I have granted modify permissions for the ISUR_ and IIS_WPG accounts on cmd.exe and rrdtool.exe

Im sorry but there was an error in my first post. I am already using rrdtool version 1.2.27

As a side note i have tried to use filemon and procmon to check if there any access denies, but for some reason I cannot get access to the driver needed to run the program which does not make any sence to me becuase I am logged in as an administrator. The error reads this:

The driver is blocked from loading.

I am not to sure if you can help me with this but I have tried looking around on other forums to fix this problem and I found no solution for it.
