Host down/up problem

Post by MatsB »

Hi,

I'm running 0.8.6j and added a Cisco 4400 wireless device. I had no problem adding the device, snmp responded ok and I could check interfaces, cpu etc. On the next poll intervall it changed to down.

Both snmp and icmp works ok from cacti to the host device. I've also tried to increase the time out setting from 500 to 1000 without any success. Host down detection is set to [snmp - reliable]. I also tried [ping - snmp MostRecommeded]. All other devices are working just fine it's just the Cisco 4400 that doesn't recognise that it's up.

I've also tried the same setup on another Cacti server 0.8.6j and Cisco 4400 and we get the same problem there.

Any ideas?

Oh my. I don't know how 086j was handling downed host detection any more. It may be an issue with a target not responding to snmpgetnext requests. Please verify from command line

Update

Tried this on yet another server who has 0.8.7b and it worked perfectly. I'm using default downed detection SNMP

Are you running cactid/spine? In this case, please run it once against that device only using --verbosity=5

Nope I'm running cmd.php. Never mind, I will run it on our 0.8.7 server instead.

Thx for the help though.
