Inconsistent Graphs

Post by vinodpatil »

Hi All,
I am getting inconsistent graphs. The associated shell scripts are executed(because we can see the generated log from script) but the corresponding RRD files are not getting updated. The graph suddenly cuts in between and after few hours again appears. Has anybody faced the same issue? If Yes what is the solution for this? Where can I see the reason for failure ? Any log file which logs the reason for RRD file updation failure?

FYI- I am not using Spine. The version of the Cacti is 0.8.7b. RRD tool version is 1.2.23.
I have attached the image of graph also to have a look.

Thanks in Advance

Did you already verify the MAX data source issue mentioned in the 2nd link of my sig?

I changed the settings for max and min in DS. But I am not sure if it was the solution. The same time I was getting the RRD file updation problem. But now everything seems to be in control ...

For existing rrd files, you will have to rrdtool tune the existing data sources to the rrd file as well

The link can be found as the 2nd link of my sig. It explaines, how changing the MAX of a data template's data source is to be treated for existing rrd files.
You will have to tweak the using "rrdtool tune" to apply the MAX change. Refer to "man rrdtune" for the syntax
