Total Multiple Data Sources

Post by skt »

Is there a way, in Cacti, to create a total bandwidth graph? I would like to add 3 data sources together to gather total input and output traffic. These data sources all come from different polling hosts.

Hi!

Same for me. Not just traffic but basicly just a number of simple integers.
What I thought of was just using a local script to add the latest values from the rrd files and feed them into a new one but that has two major drawbacks:

- you have to make sure the script is executed after updating all other sources
- if the filenames for the sources change the script has to be updated

Still looking for a solution, Hendrik

If you have a graph already with your required data sources in the ability to add a simple "Total" line to it is built into Cacti.

Add a new Graph item and set...

Data Source = None
Color = You choice ;)
Type = Line1
Consolidation Function = Average
CDEF = "Total All data sources"
Text = "Total" (for example!)

You can add Max / Average / Current GPRINTs using the same CDEF .
