[Solved] Help:after upgrading cacti's version

Post by PK »

I followed the cacti manual for upgrading cacti,In the procdures of upgrading, It appears the errors: "[Fail] ALTER TABLE `poller_time` ADD COLUMN `pid` INTEGER UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT 0 AFTER `id` and other tips were OK.

Old version:0.8.6.h
New version:0.8.7.b

How can I fix this error,or this error do not need to pay attentions. Plz help me.

read http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=11747 and repost.

1) If you manually run that command in mysql, what is the error?
2) You might have to restore your db backup (you did make one, right?), then upgrade to cacti 0.8.6j, and then upgrade to 0.8.7b.

Wait a minute, you use the windows installer to UPGRADE your existing installation? It's not designed for upgrades, which it clearly states. Furthermore, it would've overwritten your old database, so then you wouldn't be getting those alter table errors. Your steps don't make sense.

Ah, alright. Kind of a weird way to upgrade/migrate, but whatever.

So did you manually run the alter table statement and see what the error was?
