how to solve it

FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'

Sounds like you did not import your syslog database. ?

For this you have to create a second database named syslog and import the sql file.

you also have to setup syslog-ng and pipe the data to mysql.
(If using Linux)

Hi All, thanks share ur info with me

I using windows server 2000 as cacti server, i using phpmyadmin to import sql table

The setup is any different between windows and linux/unit?

You have to complete the steps on the HOWTO first... Mind the notes I posted in the HOWTO-Thread, otherwise it wont work.

I have to say that the README contained in the syslog-plugin sucks, because it does not let you know that there is a lot more stuff to do to get the plugin actually work. Alot of users spending unnecessary time to find out... cant understand why the author does not change the README...
