Syslogs does not work~

Post by cjblade54 »

Ok... i did my research on how to fix the problem and i have checked my config.php file and also make sure i grant access for my localhost. But somehow, it still gives me the error message of

Code: Select all

FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'
Here is what i have for config.php
$database_type = "mysql";
$database_default = "cacti";
$database_hostname = "localhost";
$database_username = "cactiuser";
$database_password = "******";
$database_port = "3306";

See http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=26040 for a syslog-plugin configuration walkthrough.

You will have to complete all steps in the HOWTO to get to the point where you wont see that error message again. See my notes in the HOWTO Thread.

However nothing is imported to my sql database for some reason (syslog_incoming is empty) hmmmmmm
