[SOLVED] Exported Graphs don't have legends, titles, etc...

Post by sammyc53 »

It seems to be missing the legend, and the title.

It does this for all my thold alerts and graph exports.

8.7b with latest this and latest that. Just built the cacti install the other day.

Any idea? Thanks in advance! Everything else seems to be working great!

This is usually indicative of a font problem. Reset or verify your font path is correct in Cacti's settings.

Thanks for responding. That does make sense....

So, I went and hard coded the normally blank default font field to:

/usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf
(And cacti does say 'Dir Ok')

And it didn't really help at all.

So I did a little digging on the forums for 'Fonts', and found that some versions of RRDTOOL has some issues with fonts?!?

So, how do I find which version of RRDTOOL i have, and is it advisable to upgrade/downgrade?

Thanks in advance, Sam

Hi Sam,

I'm having the same problem. Can you please specify which other page you are referring to? Thanks very much.

Nevermind, thank you. I found it. In case others are wondering, here is how you get to the text entry box that controls the Thold graph font:

1) Login to cacti as admin
2) Click the "Settings" link under the "Configuration" heading in the left nav bar.
3) Click the "Paths" tab in the top of the main page.
4) The setting description is "RRDTool Default Font Path". Put the full path to your font there (in my case, I am using the MS Windows Lucida Console path so I have /home/webmaster/.fonts/lucon.ttf).
5) Then click "Save" in the bottom right of the page and you should get a refreshed page with "[OK: FILE FOUND]" displaying under the font entry text box.

Hope this helps. I had moved the fonts to a different location and forgot to update this. After making the change, fonts are showing up in my Thold alert graphs.

Actually, the 2nd 'other' location I had to set it was on the 'Visual' tab under settings. There was 4 places I specified the font.

My graphs did not work by solely specifiying a font on the 'Paths' tab.

FYI, I used: DejaVuSansMono-Roman.ttf
