[Solved] How do you tell version of Cacti

Post by grega3 »

I installed Cacti from a VMware appliance image. I now want to upgrade Cacti because it is failing our security scans.

I just don't see the version info anywhere.

Thanks

The version number is displayed in the upper-right corner of the initial Console view (click the Console tab, upper-left corner).

Alternatively, under the Utilities menu, System Utilities, Technical Support link, version information is listed there.

Thirdly, you can browse the mySQL cacti database, version table, which should contain the current version string.

Fourthly, click on the big Cactus at the bottom of the Console menu to get a full page of credits and version info :-)

(the first two methods that Ron mentioned are only possible with 0.8.7 and above as far as I know).
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Thanks for the info. I guess this Cacti appliance pre-config has issues. It does not show the Cacti version where you indicated. It may be in the mySQL, I haven't looked there yet.

I'm starting to think maybe I should just do a clean install from Fedora... with yum command on a new server.

Thanks.

Oh, ok... I just clicked on the big cactus and got the credits screen. That did it.

It shows version 0.8.6j at the top.

Thanks guys!!!

Yah, I got tired of the "Version Search Game", so the version is now on the main console page.. :)
