Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone knew if of any work being done on a plugin for Varnish (http://varnish.projects.linpro.no/)
I noticed that there is a plugin for munin and thought it might be easy to do for cacti?

If anyone would be interested in helping me, drop a message...
Thanks - Ben

which uses eAccelerator as well as cacti Boost plugin http://forums.cacti.net/about24107.html
i doubt Varnish could introduce anything new...
That's not really a plugin, but a template.
Since i haven't got Varnish running, I can't make such a Template, but it can't be to difficult.
What you could do(there are multiple ways to do the same thing):
1) Modify the scripts you posted so it writes the values to a textfile to a path accessible by your cactiserver, for example in you wwwroot of the server running Varnish.
2) Schedule the scripts so the textfile is refreshed every 5 minutes.
3) Create a script on your cactiserver that fetches the textfile, and prints the values just like any other cacti script.
4) You could then create a Data Input Method, Data Template and Graph Template(like in the Howto's).

i realy did misunderstoodbenben wrote:I think you misunderstand what I am trying to do - I already have a cacti install and varnish running. I just would like to graph varnish statistics with cacti.
try asking at scripts & templates section http://forums.cacti.net/viewforum.php?f=12
or write a simple parser to get results from web-page,file or whatever
I have uploaded varnish cache statistics script and templates I did myself here http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=31260
