Incomplete SNMP collection of ATM PVC Stats

Post by Ben »

Just a question.

I'm able to pull snmp data manually and also from within Cacti. However, when I use Cacti I only get 48 lines worth of data where as when I use snmpwalk to look at what I need there are 64 (see below).

What do I need to do to make Cacti bring back the full list?

Code: Select all

bash-2.05a$ snmpwalk -v1 -c public 172.30.5.8 1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.9.1.12.1.1.6

I think the weirdness you are seeing is coming from the structure of your SNMP data. If you look at your output, you can see that you walking '1.3.6.1.4.1.800.2.9.1.12.1.1.6' as a base. There are still four levels below this before you reach the actual values though. Without trying to explain why this does not work, let me just say that data queries really only work when the "index" is contained in a single octet. I am guessing the '48' comes from the number of unique values in the last octet before the value.

Out of curiosity, what MIB are you pulling this data from? There might be a way to form this in a way that Cacti is happy with it.
