Alert host (non snmp)

Post by brononi »

Hey,

I've got 4 MS servers that i need to monitor.
The only thing we should recieve is a mail when the host is down.
Is there a way that i can do this?

SNMP isn't an option on these machine (security reasons).

I was thinking about the manage module?

Hi

this can be done with the "Thresholds" plugin, you'll receive alerts like that :
Host Notice : 10.50.8.213 returned from DOWN state

The status in 'Threshold' is "Unknown".
The other machines seem up (and down)...
Do i need to activate something else?

From the cacti, i can ping the target (in linux command).
