problem adding custom script 'hpc_cluster_load'

Post by esplinter »

Hi

Im trying to add a custom script to cacti to get the average load on my hpc cluster.

It seems the scripts is getting the data right :

Code: Select all

[root][harry][~]# su - cacti -c '/bin/sh /var/www/cacti/scripts/hpc_cluster_average_load.sh'
1min:5.36 5min:5.35 15min:5.30
[root][harry][~]#
but can´t get it working on cacti.

I have added a new ¨data input method" as you can see in this picture:

Then added a new "data template":

After this I added a new graph template selecting the right "hpc cluster load" data source on each graph item.

Then I go to "Graph Management" and click on "add" to create a new graph, select the graph template I have just created and it ask me for "Supplemental Graph Template Data" but here I have a problem because I can´t find on the list of "Supplemental Graph Template Data" the data input that I have just created.

I have tried it many times, reading every option each time trying to find the error that Im doing, but really I have no idea. In one of my tries I could get the data input and cacti started graphing but suddenly stopped and since then I have done and undone it many times trying to solve the problem.

¿could anyone please give a clue about what I am doing wrong??

Im am running cacti on centos5 x86_64 with rrdtool-1.2.23, apache 2.2.3, mysql-server-5.0.22, net-snmp-5.3 and this plugins:

thanks in advance for any help. Im really desperated with this :-?
