Can't find template "SNMP - Generic OID Template"

Post by Pauly »

It appears someone has deleted this template from my install, as it no longer appears in the drop down when I create a new graph. Is there some way that I can get this template back into the current install of Cacti without reinstalling everything? Does someone have a copy of the file that I could get? I downloaded the latest version, but when I unzip it I don't know what .xml file name I should be looking for, or even where to copy it to once I do find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As this version is quite old, the best way would be to create another database on your Cacti server, and install another instance of Cacti 0.8.6h.

You'll then be able to export / import the graph template.

BTW, do you run some backups of the MySQL database ?

Doubtful. I am bascially taking this over from the person that left, and the system seems to have been put in a corner and forgotten for some time. I need to add several graphs that required unique OID's and I was going to use the generic snmp as the template.

I guess the best method at this point is to upgrade the system?

Even if you upgrade Cacti to the latest version, you won't recover the missing template, but you'll find someone to export it for you...

I can export from 0.8.6j and 0.8.7a, for example.

That would be very much appreciated.

8.7a would be perfect, since that is the version I was goign to upgrade to. I then just copy the file to the server and use the import/Export function? How can you get it to me?

I found the template on the cacti website, but when I import it, I don't see it in the list.

Did you have any warning/error when importing the template ?
