[SOLVED] Vlan Interfaces not showing up on Cisco

Post by merkel »

I have a Cisco router with one fastethernet interface setup with 802.1q vlan tagging and several vlan subinterfaces. For some reason the subinterfaces do not show up when cacti polls for the available interfaces. It only shows the main fastethernet interfaces.

I have a similar setup on another Cisco router which is working correctly. After comparing the configs they appear to be the same. I am running cacti 0.8.7. Any thoughts on what could be causing the subinterfaces to not show up?

Thanks,
Eric

Cacti basically performs an

Code: Select all

snmpwalk -c ... -v ... <target> interface
Please run this for both hosts and post results

Sorry I should have did that before posting. It appears as if those vlan interfaces are not showing up either in the snmpwalk. I am planning on upgrading the IOS to something more current and try again. After googling it appears some IOS versions don't properly track these types of interfaces. I will post my results and let you know.

For the record, it appears this problem was due to the version of IOS I was running on the router. After upgrading to a newer IOS this morning, the vlan interfaces show up in snmpwalk and cacti.
