access denied error

Post by tomvang »

Anyone experience this problem, I'm running cacti on a windows environment with plugins monitor, weathermap and threshold. When a regular user clicked on the restricted tap monitor or weathermap, the user gets an error message access denied and was offered to click RETURN OR LOGIN. The links are not working when user click on it. You will have to actually closed the browser to be able to login to cacti again. It looks like it had something to do with the authentication.php file. Any assistance to this would be great.

Console -> User Management -> Edit User -> Grant permissions to missing realms.

Which permissions?

It seems strange that I am not able to get back to the login screen. It should allow me to fill in another user to access the Cacti interface, no matter wich Realm Permission I give to a specific user. I junt need to logout and login again. But I am stuck in this Access Denied screen. No way out.

Yes, that seems odd. Just redirect your browser to http://<host>/cacti

I suspect that your session timed out due to innactivity.

This is indeed a bug with cacti login. A collegue of mine came across it. Lack of time prevents fixing it, sorry.
