Any graphs template for Emc? please

Post by hassan1 »

I have an EMC CLARiiON AX150 I would like to plot a graph for disk usage, fan, power supply, battery, temperature and uptime using cacti but when I snmpwalk my Emc it does not seem give any MIBS on disk usage, fan, power supply e.t.c

Can anyone please enlighten me on this? Are they any Graph template I can use to plot the graphs? How do I plot graphs for the disk usages, fan, power supply, battery, temperature and uptime?
Can you help? please

Here is my snmpwalk output

Sorry man, but I don't think this is possible.
EMC wants you to pony up a zillion dollars for their monitoring software, and they've decided it's better to sabotage your monitoring than forgo an opportunity to charge you more money!

Edit: "This" means more then IF-MIB - stuff like disk and performance.
Your switches, on the other hand, most likely are covered somewhere in these forums.

Yep, it seems they don't want anyone peeking beneath the hood. I've enabled SNMP queries on the unit, then grabbed the FibreAlliance MIB (common to all EMC products apparently) and walked the device using GetIF and there's nothing useful for monitoring, only model name, IP etc. Called support and they confirmed that the AX series has no such features, not even their own Navisphere monitoring product will not monitor the AX series.

That said, you can at least monitor the traffic on the interfaces by using the standard SNMP Interfaces template. By looking at the MAC addresses in GetIF I can see that on a single storage processor unit:
. interface 1 is the loopback adapter
. interface 2 is SP A-0 (Qlogic)
. interface 3 is the management port (Broadcom)
. interface 4 is SP A-1 (Qlogic)

Guys,

you're right.
You can collect stats from the IP Management Port (which really makes no sense) and from the iSCSI Ports (if available in this Modell) via Standard SNMP.

Take a look on this post (http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=31152) and let's work on the usage of Navisphere CLi commands to get real things about Utilization & Throughput into CACTI.
