Installed PIA now nothing showing on graphs

Post by marguin433 »

I am pretty sure that i came across a post/thread on this one prior to installing the PIA, but now that i have the issue myself i cannot find it. If this is in fact a repeat thread, it would be appreciated if you could direct me to that thread. Otherwise....here is my situation...
Installed PIA on a new install of Cacti 0.8.7a. The PIA seems to be working ok as i can infact install plugins and their tabs show up and are seemingly functional.

HOWEVER, now i do not seem to have any data in my graphs?! I noticed this n the cacti.log:

11/29/2007 03:30:02 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[3] DS[17] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result:

as well as this:

11/29/2007 03:20:01 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] ERROR: A DB Exec Failed!, Error:'1062', SQL:"insert into poller_output (local_data_id, rrd_name, time, output) values (11, 'traffic_in', '2007-11-29 15:20:01', '217992957')'

and the latter with a coupld different graph attributes, obviously the one above is for 'traffic_in'. So it seems to be affecting all of the graphing in my installation. Any help would be appreciated as i continue searching for that other post.

thank you.

poller ...

so from the looks of it, my poller does not seem to be running. if i execute the php poller script manually it seems to run. but then nothing if i just let the crontab do it. i have the following in the 'root' crontab:

*/5 * * * * cacti php /var/www/cacti/poller.php > /dev/null 2>&1

(and restarted crond after adding it).

so I have my cron job working now, looking at the httpd/error_log, looks like i have an issue accessing some files in the rra directory.

ERROR: opening '/var/www/cacti/rra/switch_2_corp_environment_traffic_in_132.rrd': No such file or directory
ERROR: opening '/var/www/cacti/rra/switch_2_corp_environment_traffic_in_132.rrd': No such file or directory

but when i go in to the rra directory there is a file with that permission. I have this error happening for all of the graphs on a linux host, but not on my switches and routers nor the local linux host. File ownership etc is the same as the ones that seem to work (meaning they show up in the UI, I still have a problem wiht them not having the data in them!).
