Per month average graphing.

Post by Cage »

Hi.

How can I setup Cacti so the port it monitors tells me:

Average bandwidth consumed per hour, day, month.

Thank you, Frizz.
Before I go there, I now have a new issue at hand to take care of. :(

I followed this tutorial to install

The only thing is, my /var/www/html now has a symlink to /usr/local/cacti. However, when I access it online, all the hotlinks to images/settings.php, etc have become deadlinks.

http://mysite.com/cacti/index.php

But everything that index.php links to is

http://mysite.com/settings.php where it should really be be http://mysite.com/cacti/settings.php

How do I fix this?

viewing graph presets for more then 2 days

Post by nurbo »

Hi,

I am wondering why in the graphs tab i can only see 2 days of data in my interface bits per second graphs.
If i choose 3 days or more i won't see the data for more than those 2 days in the past.

The picture i am sending attached shows what i mean.

The curious is that this does not happen to the cpu usage graphs.

Anyone can help me understand why there is this diference?

Thank you very much.

Cool. I finally managed to bring it online with all the relative paths, etc.
Now, I've also installed the reportit plugin server side, but I don't know how to bring it's presence into cacti.

I have a HP Procurve switch at a datacentre, and I've been able to add it as a device and get a graph created on the port I want to see.
But now I'm stuck trying to figure out how to use the reportit plugin to show me average bits per sec per hour/day/week/month, etc :S

In the templates section, I don't see "Report Templates".
So, I don't know what to do now.

Help will be very appreciated.
Thank you.

PS: A complete tutorial would be good too, on how to put in graphs, etc.

At first it has to be implemented like all the other plugins. (under 0.8.7 you have to edit /include/global.php. Add under the plugin section "$plugins[] = 'reportit';" without quotes.)
Then change to your web interface and activate it under Settings/User Management. Check all three realm permissions to be an admin. Then you can create a report template. You will find some examples under the main discussion of ReportIt.

Followed what you said, and it works now!
The only thing now is, the graphs are empty. Last night they had a green data thing to it, but now it's all empty.

I went on the server and did:
[root@ripper cacti]# php poller.php
11/10/2007 02:51:53 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] WARNING: Cron is out of sync with the Poller Interval! The Poller Interval is '300' seconds, with a maximum of a '300' second Cron, but 75515 seconds have passed since the last poll!

Is that the reason for empty graphs?

Per this posting by TheWitness, it appears to be a bug.

The solution in there worked for me, and now it's graphing fine.
Now, all I gotta go is figure out how to make the plugin ReportIt work fine.

Please compare settings from "rrdtool info" of both rrd files. I'm referring to the number of data points in each consolidation level
