F5 plug in issue - data query returning 0 rows

Post by jpipitone »

I have installed the F5 templates - which are simply querying our BIG-IP version 4.5.14 for the following:

F5-BigIP-ChassisTemp
F5-BigIP-Connections
F5-BigIP-CPU Util
F5-BigIP-CPUEnv
F5-BigIP-Interupts
F5-BigIP-Swap

I've enabled SNMP on the F5, and I can successfully walk it using this string from the command line:

snmpwalk -v 1 -c communityname bigip-ip-address

The problem is, when i try to create the graphs, Cacti simply says:

"This data query returned 0 rows, perhaps there was a problem executing this data query."

Is there a problem with the script or the <oid>s within it? Why would I be able to walk it normally from the command line but not from within Cacti? Thanks for any help, much appreciated.

Hi jpipitone,

who gave you these templates? Did you asked the "creator"? I would be interested in these templates as well. Maybe we will find out the reason for the missing feature.

cheers,

What version of Cacti? With Cacti's recent inclusion of snmpv3 support, many templates require updating if their scripts use Cacti's built in snmp functions.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
