jboss templates preventing datasources from being polled

Post by jammer »

Here's a strange one for you:

I installed the jboss templates that are found here: http://forums.cacti.net/about16322.html

If i create any of the jboss graphs for a given device, all the datasources for that device stop getting polled and my graphs stop working.

I've noticed one other thing as well: For every data template of type 'Get SNMP Data', there are two 'SNMP Port' variables. I'm sure it shouldn't be this way and i suspect that importing the jboss xml file caused this.

Does anyone have any idea why all my graphs would stop working after creating one of these jboss graphs? And how do i repair cacti so that it only has a single 'SNMP Port' variable.

I read a post somewhere about how the poller uses some kind of snmp ping. These jboss datasources have unique ports. Could that have something to do with it?

Look at the data input method the jboss template uses. I bet there are 2 'snmp ports' in the input fields.

Ah good tip. I went to check that out, but then quickly realized that the data input method is the built in "get SNMP data". I did notice that for one of the data templates, both SNMP Port vars where checked. They've been unchecked, but i can't make them go away. I'm guessing that the xml file for one of theses templates had contained it. Now, how do i get rid of it?
